SBI Study Group

 Dear Friends,

In 2012, the SBI Study Group which has been meeting monthly for the past two years will be undergoing a few changes. The new schedule, created in consultation with Alan Wallace, is listed below in concise form. Individual mailings will also be sent out for each of the upcoming events.

Vidya Gauci will be leading calm abiding or shamatha practice at Unity Church beginning Monday, Feb. 27 from 7:00-8:20 PM, and a monthly group meeting at EMID. For more information please click here.

The Study Group for May has two parts: First, on Friday night May 18, everyone is invited to a free talk and book signing by Tsoknyi Rinpoche at Unity Church, 227 E Arrellaga St, SB,  at 7pm. We have frequently mentioned Rinpoche, the author of Fearless Simplicity and Carefree Dignity, and some members of our sangha have taken retreats with him. For more on him see www.tsoknyirinpoche.org. We have chosen his new book, Open Heart, Open Mind: Awakening the Power of Essence Love, to be the focus for the next Study Group series starting on May 19th, 10am to 1pm,  to be led by Kimberley Snow.  Rinpoche has kindly agreed to visit the Study Group scheduled at EMID (directions below) on Saturday morning, the day after his reading, to meet with us informally. His visit will provide an auspicious beginning for our deeper look at his book which is now available on Amazon. You may order it from there and bring the copy with you for him to sign on Friday night or at least "look inside" the book on Amazon before he arrives.

Subsequent Study Group dates in this series are June 16, July 21 and August 18.

Best wishes,

Kimberley for SBI
